Privacy Policy

The short version

We collect the information you give us when you search packages, ask for pricing, or send trip details to an advisor. We don't sell your information. Advertising cookies stay off unless you allow them; if you do, we use the Meta Pixel to measure our Facebook and Instagram ads. We use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights for privacy-conscious aggregate usage and performance measurement, and a small number of trusted infrastructure providers (listed below) to run the site and send email.

What we collect

When you ask for pricing or trip help: your name, email, travel dates, party size, destination preferences, and any notes you add. We only ask for what we need to check packages or help compare options.

Automatically from your browser: standard server logs (IP address, user agent, page URLs visited). We use these only for debugging and security. We don't run fingerprinting scripts, and advertising cookies run only if you allow them (see Cookies & tracking below).

What we do not collect through the ResortFinder quote form: credit card numbers, passport details, or identity documents. If a later booking step requires payment or travel-document details, those are handled through the secure booking, advisor, or supplier process, not through the public research form.

How we use it

Advisor requests are forwarded to bookings@resortfinder.ca so an advisor can respond, usually within 24 hours.

Site improvements, we use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to understand aggregate page views, high-level interactions, and performance issues. We do not send names, emails, quote contents, chat message text, or free-form trip details to analytics.

Advertising, only if you allow advertising cookies: the Meta Pixel shows us which of our Facebook and Instagram ads bring people here and lead to steps like finishing the resort quiz, signing up for deal alerts, or starting a booking or quote. It also lets us show our ads to people who have visited, and to people Meta finds similar to them. We never send Meta your name, email, phone number, or anything you type into our forms.

Marketing, we don't send unsolicited marketing email. If we ever add a newsletter, it'll be opt-in only.

Who else sees your data

We use a small number of infrastructure providers:

  • Vercel, hosts the website you're reading. Standard web server logs.
  • Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights, provide privacy-conscious aggregate page, event, and performance measurement.
  • Supabase, stores resort catalog data and advisor-help submissions.
  • Resend, delivers advisor-help request emails.
  • TripAdvisor & Google Places APIs, we pull resort photos, reviews, and metadata from these. They never see your activity on our site.

Each of these processes your data only to provide the service we contracted them for. They do not get to use your data for their own marketing.

Meta (Facebook and Instagram) receives Meta Pixel data only if you allow advertising cookies. Unlike the providers above, Meta also uses it for its own purposes, such as improving its ads, under Meta's privacy policy.

Cookies & tracking

We use minimal first-party storage for things like remembering filter state, your compare list, your cookie choice, and launch UTM parameters for the current browser session.

Advertising cookies are off unless you allow them. If you do, the Meta Pixel sets a Meta cookie on this site and sends Meta the pages you view here, the steps listed above, your IP address, and basic browser details. If you're logged in to Facebook or Instagram, Meta can link this to your account. The pixel never runs on pages opened from a private link, such as a quote, a price-watch email, or a group trip.

You can change your answer at any time, here or with the Cookie choices link at the bottom of every page. Turning it off stops the pixel straight away.

Optional ChatGPT enquiry measurement

This choice is separate from Meta advertising cookies and is off until you allow it. If you allow it and this tab has a permitted ChatGPT ad-click reference, our server tells OpenAI when an advisor enquiry is successfully saved. OpenAI can match the enquiry to that ad click on its side so we can measure our ads. Without that reference we send no enquiry event. We send an event ID, event time, a fixed enquiry-page address and the ChatGPT ad-click reference. We do not send your name, email, phone, IP address, browser details, trip answers or booking details through this integration. We do not load OpenAI's browser Pixel or use automatic contact matching.

We remember this choice for up to 180 days. Only after permission, an available ad-click reference is held in this browser tab's session for up to 30 days. Refusing or withdrawing permission stops future measurement and clears that reference in this tab. Events already sent cannot be unsent by changing the browser choice. Declining private campaign linking on an enquiry also prevents this measurement in this tab only. To stop it across tabs on this browser, choose Don't allow ChatGPT measurement in Cookie choices. Advisor help works regardless of either choice.

Measurement begins when enabled; earlier enquiries are not uploaded. Platform attribution may include modeled results and is not proof that an ad caused a booking. OpenAI handles event data under its Privacy Policy and Conversion Terms. We request that these events not be used for future user-level personalization.

Advertising choices

We'd like to use the Meta Pixel to measure our Facebook and Instagram ads and show them to people who've visited. It sends Meta the pages you view here and steps like finishing the resort quiz. It stays off unless you allow it. Privacy policy

ChatGPT enquiry measurement

With your permission, we tell OpenAI when you successfully request advisor help after a ChatGPT ad click. OpenAI can match the enquiry to that ad click on its side so we can measure our ads. Your contact details, trip answers and booking details are not shared through this measurement. Advisor help works the same if you decline. Privacy policy
